Our services in this area include, for example, legal action to prevent the unlawful copying and distribution of audio and audiovisual works, such as musical compositions, audiobooks or film, as well as software.
We enforce our clients’ rights arising from the unlawful handling of copyrighted works, in particular, the right to damages, including lost profits.
Taking into account that most of the unlawful copying and distribution of copyrighted works takes place on the Internet, we pay particular attention to legal procedures to protect copyrighted works in the online environment.
We also provide legal services related to copyright law in connection with the latest technologies, such as algorithms for the automatic recognition of image materials on the Internet. On the one hand, these technologies provide copyright owners with additional protection, on the other hand, automatic processing may result in financial claims against authorised users or against users who mistakenly believe in good faith that they have the relevant licence. In such cases, we also assist the affected users in defending their actions and in resolving the matter constructively to minimise the negative impact on the client.
